National Pull the Plug (on ObamaCare) Day is set for Tuesday, September 8th, 2009, the day Congress returns to Washington.

We are six regular people, not supported by any PACs or political parties, and we’ve been closely following the health care debate.

We are concerned. We want to make a statement. So we’re asking you to help us by participating on National Pull the Plug Day, a day where all concerned citizens can demonstrate their frustration with the elitist leaders in Congress and the White House by wearing something black. A shirt, hat, scarf, tie, whatever.

It’s not a fashion statement. It’s a political statement.

Our website, for which each of us chipped in 30 of our hard-earned after-tax dollars, is Watch the videos we’ve posted there. If you’ve been a casual observer of the health care debate, these videos will turn your head. I promise.

Thank you.

James Gage’s Real Estate Investing: Tip of the Month

Without recourse

There has been a lot of misinformation circulating through the real
estate investing community about liability issues concerning
assignments, so my attorney, several years ago, had me add the two
simple words “without recourse”; meaning if
the party I assign the contract to defaults, there can be no recourse
against me.

I have a second valuable tip for Home and Condo renters, and for
individuals that do lease options. Have a clause put into your lease and lease option contracts with the seller, which requires the Property owner to supply documentation to
you monthly that proves that they paid the mortgage. By documentation
I mean a copy of their mortgage statement. Also state that the Rent
payment will not be made until the mortgage statement is received. If
they do not agree to these terms, just move on to another landlord or
lease option seller. A reputable landlord eager to rent their
property will agree to this.

Note: In the case of lease options, if you feel that the seller might
not make the payments; insist that you pay the bank or mortgage
company on a monthly basis.

This is just a sample of the useful information you receive as a Gage Consulting Group Newsletter subscriber, why not tell others? They will thank you for it; direct them to Just Click on the right side of this blog under Rent To Own Real Estate Guru.

Hear James Gage, Live, Saturdays on the MIND YO BUSINESS talk show at 9:45am, Eastern Time, on XM Radio, Channel 169.

We welcome back Mr. Michael Bennett, travel writer and entrepreneur. Bennett is back from a recent foray to Hot Lanta. He says it’s a moveable city in  the summertime, that everything is conveniently located. Michael Bennett joins Brian during the MIND YO BUSINESS Travel hour.

Know before you go-go-go. Familiarize yourself with your destination or destinations. After all, knowledge applied is power. By familiarizing yourself with your destination, you’ll get more enjoyment out of your experience, save precious time and possibly avoid known dangers. As a traveler, it is up to you to become aware of any/all restrictions on items you tae out of the country. Even some over-the-counter medicines are banned in certain countries.

I remember the customs folk in Freeport, Bahamas confiscated some of my broadcasting equipment, simply because I didn’t request permission to bring it in. Customs was polite, but firm. Everything was cool. My items were returned just before I boarded the puddle jumper back to Ft. Lauderdale.

Oh yeah, some things you purchase overseas, may not be allowed in the home of the free, United States.

This isn’t about a home-based business. It does relate to you and your family’s health and privacy issues. Please listen to the interview former Presidential candidate Fred Thompson had recently with a Patient Rights Advocate. Please comment here on the blog after you hear what she has to say.

Listen to the Betsy McCaughey interview.  Unbelievable!!!!

I have just received an email from a friend who heard an interview on the Fred Thompson Show (7/16/09) from a Patient Rights Advocate, Betsy McCaughey. When I checked it out (and you can hear it, yourself), it chilled me to the bone.

PLEASE, PLEASE try to get into it and hear what she has to say!! She has read all 1400 pages of  the bill and points out many things that you will be shocked at, including whether or not, at our age, there’s any point of having any medical care for certain conditions to help us live longer. You will not believe what she has to say!

We must get the word out, because surely Obama and his administration don’t want us to know what is really going on, and they can ramrod this one through Congress just like they did the stimulus pkg.

Hoping you can help me out with an upcoming segment on the talk show. I’m scouring the nation looking for the best “All you can eat” restaurants. Obviously, I haven’t seen them or eaten in them all, so your eyes and taste buds are being put to the test.

I have a few categories:

  1. Seafood
  2. Barbecue
  3. Breakfast/Brunch

Please post your choice(s) in the comments section of this Post. Your answers will be part of the Saturday July 18, 2009 MIND YO BUSINESS talk show, during the Travel Hour, 9am-10am [Mississippi Riverboat Time].
